Any advice/comments on these B&Bs?
I'm traveling to Ireland in three weeks. Does anyone have experience with the following B&Bs? Thanks in advance.
Galway-- Norman Villa Tralee-- Castlemorris Dingle-- Emlagh Lodge Killarney-- Earls Court or Crystal Springs Cashel-- Dualla House Kilkenny-- Need suggestions!!! Dublin-- Kilronnen House or Alberin Lodge |
Hi,
We stayed at the Emlagh Lodge last June. It was lovely. Maggie, the owner, was very helpful and sweet. Breakfast was terrific. We loved the location, just a short walk along the water to Dingle town. We are planning another Ireland trip next summer, and will definitely try to stay here again. |
I just topped my post where I reviewed the B&B's I stayed in -
Loved Dualla House (Cashel) & Crystal Springs (Killarney) didn't like Laurels in Kilkenny http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34414657 |
We did not rent a car on either trip, so close-in location was important to us. Stayed at Rivermere in Killarney in 2001. This year stayed at the following:
Kilkenny - Carriglea Cashel - Ashmore House Galway - Ardawn House Ennis - Rose Cottage Guesthouse We were very happy with all of these. |
We stayed at the Heaton's Guesthouse in Dingle and it was by far the best ever! see my other coments on this fantastic B&B - you won't regret staying here!

We just got back from Killarney and spent four nights at Crystal Springs. Eileen could not have been more polite and pleasant, but Crystal Springs seems to be just a big enough business (10 rooms, I think) to be a bit less that personal and homey in feel, if you know what I mean. Good food, clean rooms, kind of noisy between the adjacent bathrooms. However, not terribly quanint or home like. A bit too far to walk to town, as well.
