Antwerp, Ghent, and Lille: Any ideas?

Our Dutch friends are taking us on a few days driving trip to these cities toward the end of May. They will know the main sites.
Does anyone have any special interesting memories or suggestions of things to see?
We were in Lille (France, obviously) overnight once in about 1980, can't remember much at all. I gather it has changed.
Thanks for any ideas.

Michael: thanks for that. I am trying to remember something I read about an architecturally interesting new market hall, which I believe was in the old center of Ghent.

Anyone know any restaurants in these places, that are particularly good?

You're right about the new market hall in Gent. There's a bit of controversy around it: you like it or you hate it. I haven't seen it myself yet, so I can't comment!

Ghent has some very fine restaurants from (young) chefs. For instance Vrijmoed, J.E.F., De Vitrine, Karel De stoute, ...

Antwerp, of course, has also some very good restaurants: Veranda, De Godevaart, Aquano, L'Epicerie du Cirque, Ardent, Het Gebaar (lunch lounge), Radis Noir, Kommilfoo, ... I could go on for a while.

A few months ago we had a very enjoyable lunch in Lille at Le Champlain.

Ooh, Myriam, thanks so much. these restaurants look good enough to check out. I always like to get a "live" recommendation!

And thanks for confirming the Market hall in Ghent. I will definitely comment on it when I get back.
