Antiquarian Book Stores in Edinburgh?
Thanks to many Fodorites we now have our basic trip to Scotland planned for this summer.
One of my interests is to poke around antiquarian bookstores. Where are the good ones in Edinburgh? I would not necessarily travel across town just to pop into one, but I'd hate to be a block or two away and not know it was there. Thanks in advance.
BTW, does it seem wrong that Fodors lumps Scotland in with the UK when you pick a search topic on a new message?

Not terribly far from Haymarket, near Lothian Road is a street called West Port (not to be cofused with West Bow). There are several antiquarian and used bookshops there. A majopr one is called, cleverly enough, West Port Books, but offhand I can't recall the names of any of the others.
Nearish to the other (east) end of Princes Street, on Leith Walk, there's McNaughton's, which has been around for ages.
Near the University's George Square buildings, on Bucclech Place there's an antiquarian bookstore whose name I totally forget.
I'm sure there are others, but that's what comes to mind. You might want to poke around on Google, bearing in mind that the British term is usually "bookshop" rather than "bookstore."

Changing book store to book shop immediately worked in Google. This was at the top.
