Antibes or Juan les Pins - where to stay?

hi there -

hoping anyone can make a recommendation on whether to stay in Antibes or Juan les Pins. All of the hotels seems to be concentrated around Juan Les Pins, but have heard great things about vieux Antibes.

How close are they? The map makes them look pretty close, but its really tough to tell. Anyone have a recommendation on where to stay, Antibes or Juan Les Pins? And if so - a specific hotel recommednation?

A friend and I will be there 2 days in mid-October.

Thanks so much!

I do not have a specific hotel to recommend but I would stay in Antibes or Cap Antibes over Juan Les Pins.

You're right, they are very close to each other but IMO Antibes was much prettier.

I would stay in Juan in high season if I was looking for a beach vacation, but for two nights in Oct I'd take Antibes.

It IS very close. Juan-les-Pins has a wide sandy beach and is a resort town. Antibes has the Old Town with a port, museums and shops and some beaches in the suburbs.

What you should do: If you have found a hotel which suits you, enter the adress in Google Earth and have a look. Then decide.

Susanna is right - Cap d'Antibes is a nice place. I strongly recommend the Hotel Eden Roc. The cheapest non-view room is 470 Euros - which is a bargain. If you want to stay a little bit nicer, opt for Villa Les Cèdres. In October, they offer it for just 4,700 Euros per night. Breakfast and parking are extra.

Hi Traveller and Susanna -

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and focus my search more on Antibes, rather than JLP.

The Eden Roc looks incredible - but the 470 Euros/night is a little steep. Looking for something under 200 Euros/night. It seems there are only "budget" hotels, or quite high-end....looking for something somewhat more middle of the road! :)

Any thoughts on Le Relais du postillon, Hotel Le Collier, or Hotel de l'Etoile?

thanks!
