Antalya excursions

I am going on a Mediterranean cruise in late March. One port-of-call is Antalya, and the cruise ship has 3 possible excursions. I'm looking for advice on which of these would be the most interesting:

- a city tour or Antalya, Aspendos, Side and Perge
- Perge and the archaelogical museum in Antalya
- Thermessos

Of course, a fourth possibility is to just see the town on our own, or to hang out on the beaches in Antalya (isn't this a beach resort?) but I'm afraid that in late March it may be to cold for that.

I'm also concerned that after stops in Egypt and Rome, my teenagers may be bored with yet more ruins. Are any of these truly don't-miss tours?

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

Chris

Hi:

Aspendos, Side & Perge tour will be more beneficial if you are interested seeing the ruins. No matter what you do, ANTALYA MUSEUM IS A MUST... Many of the collections from the above sites as well as from other sites, are in thismuseum. Please pay notice some of the items that were about to stolen, taken away from the country but, the smuggleres were caught. Also some of the items are still in museums in the USA and in many museums in all over the Europe. Enjoy your tour and have a pleasant time.

Termessos is a fascinating site, but you must be prepared for quite a bit of uphill hiking. The paths are not really cleared (lots of loose stone) and the site is not rebuilt. That said, I'm very glad we made the effort to see it.

I would choose the first one. I happen to like Side. But I suppose you would be taken there because of the amphitheatre.

Do you have any idea how far from town the cruiseship will be docking? We are hoping to be able to walk there and do the town on our own. Thanks.

You can not walk from docks to the city for sure unless spend 2 hrs under heat. March is a good month still even to swim :-)) lets say usually
Happy travelling
