Another RER-to-CDG Question
Apparently when we will be going to CDG (Saturday for my daughter; Sunday for Ms. Bear and me) there are two kinds of RER B trains that one can take from St. Michel-Notre Dame: EFLA and EKLI*.
According to the RATP web site, the "*" means "direct depuis Gare du Nord." Does that mean that the EKLI* trains are non-stop after G du N? and the EFLA trains make several stops? |
Yes as far i as can understand
and be sure to be on the non-stop train (after Gare du Nord) as on the stopping services folks can flood on at several stations |
yep. EKLI is the 'express' and EFLA makes all the stops b/t Gare du Nord and CDG.
|
Thank you both.
|
The large overhead monnikers at each RER B station should clearly have no stations lit up after Gare du Nord on the non-stop service but all or nearly all on the stopping service.
|
Exactly PalenQ. While the RER train names can tell you the route and stops it takes I wouldn't concern yourself with memorizing train names.
The board will tell you where the train is stopping. During peak hours you typically have three repeating trains: the CDG express train stopping only at Chatelet and Gare du Nord before CDG, a train that will make multiple or all of the stops on the way to CDG, and a train that will take the Mitry-Claye spur. |
I think the train "name" can be helpful to us because the TV monitor adjacent to the escalator to the platform indicates,. by "name," the time each train is expected.
|
The airport train will be the one with the accordion player on it
|
d_claude_bear,
I suppose, but most RER monitors also tell you where the train is going. Approximately every 15 minutes an express train to CDG will stop at St. Michel-Notre Dame. |
