Another RER B/Metro question, Paris

First time using train to Paris. I have been to Paris a few times but from CDG, have always used a shuttle/taxi/Air France bus. Since I am traveling alone this time, I wanted to save money and gain experience using the RER.

Apartment is at Rue St. Gregoire. I take the RER B at CDG and get off at St. Michel/Notre Dame. From here, can I walk to rue st. gregoire or do I take the metro and get off at Odeon? I'm just a bit scared to get lost walking with a luggage and carryon. Any suggestion?

Thanks.

There are huge maps of each district posted it seems on every street corner in Paris - hard to get lost with those.

Changing at Notre-Dame/SMichel could entail steps and a long walk - could not i don't know but many RER-metro interchanges may entail long walk and stairs.

Print off the area map from online before you go.

<i>Apartment is at Rue St. Gregoire</i>

Did you mean Rue Gr&eacute;goire de Tours?

If yes, then it's about 1/2 mile from St Michel RER stop, so it shouldn't be more than a 10-min walk.

A for directions, it's REALLY easy.

Go to
Google Maps
then Directions
Put in Place Saint Michel as Point A, and Rue Gr&eacute;goire de Tours (with the apt #) as Point B.

You have to select &quot;walking&quot; instead of &quot;by car&quot;.

You will then get a highlighted route. Print it out and follow it when you get out of the RER station.

In fact, I made a google map for you with the route. I just picked a random point on Rue Gr&eacute;goire de Tours since you didn't give us the building number. Here's the link to the google map

You could save most of that walking by getting on M&eacute;tro Ligne 4 (Direction Porte d'Orl&eacute;ans) at Gare du Nord and riding it to Od&eacute;on. Your apartment street is a block west of the station.

Get a transport map of the neighborhood with this method: fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?tid=34987572
