I agree with Stu and others, drop a day from Rome and drop Lucca, not that it isn't wonderful in Lucca. You will love the area around Pienza. It is easily accessible by car and has some wonderful restaurants and the countryside is spectacular.

Did Tuscany in 2005 and much prefered the Pienza area over the Chianti area.
