Another Paris hotel Question?
I have already booked Hotel Aramis Saint Germain on rue De Rennes so I can't change it
may 19 - 27. I would like to know if anyone knows this hotel and the area around it? |
Well, jeff, if we told you that you had made a horrendous mistake, it would only make you unhappy.
Great choice! ((I)) |
Hi, Jeff, have you 'looked' at the streets nearby by using www.pagesjaunes.fr?
Also, just to know that it is walkable to the lovely Jardin de Luxembourg and I believe rue de Rennes has a fair amount of shops on it. You are steps away from a metro stop, and you can walk a few blocks to the Montparnasse area (lots of shops, cafes, the Tour, etc) as well as to Saint Germain area. You will be fine. |
I looked at pagesjaunes.fr and I think it will be just fine. It looks kinda bad on the outside but beautiful inside.
Thanx for your posts. |
Jeff, don't worry about the location, it's fine. Now I don't care for it so much because it's right on a very busy big street which isn't particularly attractive, but it's a convenient area and nothing wrong with it. Don't worry about what's right around a hotel within a block or so or on the exact same street, it really doesn't matter. That hotel is right near a metro stop so you can go anywhere and it's not very far from Luxembourg Gardens or St-Sulpice or the real main drag area of St-Germain (bd St-Germain). It's also on a convenient bus line.
I know that hotel is popular and probably some folks on here have stayed there -- did you search under the word "aramis" within France? If not, there are reviews on tripadvisor, I bet, and several positive ones on www.paris.org/Hotels |
Thank you Christina, I read the France/Aramis thread and I really feel good about the hotel and location plus we like to walk so it will be perfect for us. I paid just over 700 Euro total
$965.00 for 7 nights with breakfast. I think I did good! |
