Anniversary trip.....looking for a romantic bathtub in Tuscany!
 

Going to Italy for 10 yr. Anniversary and looking for a romantic accomodation in Tuscany (any location) preferably with rustic elegance that has a great bathtub (Ideally would love a clawfoot or stone tub). Any ideas?

This is near Sienna,has a lovely breakfast,and a romantic little cottage as well as rooms to rent.I don't remember the bathtub style, but you could ask.

The huge tub in the Malvinsa suite at La Saracina in the Val d'Orcia near Pienza. This is a very romantic villa too - we spent our 25th anniversary there about 11 years ago. Been there twice. You can do laps in the jaccuzi/tub. There is also a shower with two shower heads and it's so large that it doesn't need a shower curtain. Two sinks too. The villa has only 6 rooms. Large pool, tennis courts, and fabulous views over the val d'Orcia. You can see Pienza from the grounds.

I seemed to have lost their web site (new PC), but if you do a search for La Saracina, you'll find lots of comments. It's very popular.

Coincidentally.....just before I checked the postings to this question, I stumbled across your Tuscan itinerary on another post, printed it and checked out the La Sarcina website, found the Malvinsa room/tub and was in heaven. Exactly what I'm looking for.

I've seen your posts on many topics and am very grateful (as I sure am so many are) for your expertise and for sharing your amazing experiences with us. You are a gem!

The downside of La Saracina is that you may never want to leave.

Based on Stu's recommendation, we spent four nights at La Saracina in mid-October of 2004. We stayed in the Prugnolo suite, which also has a nice jacuzi tub and a large shower, and a lovely canopied bed. We should have stayed longer or should have never left.
