Anniversary Dinner in Paris

We'll be celebrating our anniversary in Paris in a few weeks. I'd appreciate any thoughts on restaurant/experiences for the occasion. Our children will be with us - teenagers and good in upscale restaurants. Thought of a cruise on the Seine with dinner as one possibility. Thanks!

Hi C,

How much do you want to pay for dinner?

Suggest sunset cruise on Seine, without kids, would be nicer than a dinner cruise. The food is not all that good.

I'd venture between $300-400e for the four of us.

Hi C,

Your budget leaves out Taillevent, Jules Verne, Tour d'Argent, and Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athenee, although if you have lunch instead of dinner you might squeak by.

I enjoyed Le Train Bleu because of its ambience, but others have said the food was not memorable. See http://www.le-train-bleu.com/

La Fermette Marbeuf is another Fin de Siecle restaurant which we liked.

In your price range I can recommend Le Grand Cafe, which is just off the Place de l'Opera on Capucines. They have a web site. Very attractive place with good food.
