Ankara - Radisson Hotel in Ulus

We will be in Ankara for one night and one-half day. We have made reservations in the new Radisson Hotel in Ulus. I am now reading that this area can be pretty seedy. Should we change to a hotel in the Kavaklidere area (like the Sheraton or Hilton)? Thanks!

As far as I know location is not to bed. But depending what you are going to do in 1,5 day you may want to change. As well why not looking for a smaller hotels in the center ?

Happy Travelling

As a person and a tour guide who has been living in Ankara for 30 years, I can say that what you have read is correct. You had better change your reservation to one of the hotels in Kavaklýdere area.

With all good wishes.

Asia Minor: thanks for the advice. We have cancelled and re-booked at the Sheraton!

Jrlaw 10,

Enjoy your stay in Ankara. Don't miss MADO (just 200 metres from Sheraton on Tunalihimi Street next to Kugulu Park) if you like ice-cream (I recommend one with pistachios) or any traditional Turkish dessert such as baklava.
