Andrew Harpers guides

I'm curious if anyone on this site subscribes to any of the Andrew Harper publications? I checked out the AH website today and I have to say that I'm blown away by the prices to subscribe to their publications. I checked out a few sample issues re: "hideaways", "Q-Club", etc. Personally, I don't know how AH stays in business charging over $300 a year for travel information that you can get in $20.00 Fodor's books, Frommers books, Karen Brown, as well as the internet, etc.

So I figure that I'm obviously missing something because AH has been in business for quite a while. I'm hoping that someone can explain to me what information he's supplying that warrants a $300 yearly price tag.

For instance, ...I looked at the "hideaway" sample publication on his website and it just happens to be on hideaways in New England. I live in New England so I know it's a bit unfair but there wasn't one place he mentioned that I didn't know about. For example, Blantyre and Wheatleigh are hardly "hideaways". In fact, even if you don't live here I'm sure you'd know about these inns if you were seeking luxury accommodations. It's the same with his AH Collection sample publication on France/Monaco. Again...he mentions really nice inns and chateaus but if that's the type of travel you do, I'm sure you'd already know about them.

What am I missing??

http://www.andrewharper.com/show.dll/index

it caters to luxe travelers who likely don't care that it's 300 bucks a year..

I've never heard of Mr Andrew either. Apparently he doesn't sell guidebooks..or if he does you're supposed to pay hundreds of dollars for them?

I'm with Leslie..where does this bozo get off?

There is a market for everyone and everything. Evidently Andrew Harper has found his niche. Now if only I could find a gig as good as good as that one I would be rolling in money. But maybe he only sells three or four a year? It doesn't say on his site.
