jg1234 - Could I be the person you were referring to? I just built a tuscan kitchen in my suburban California home. It's stunning!

The following link describes a house designed by an architect believed to have been influenced by the Alhambra. The house is in - of all places - Leeds, England. (The same house is said to also incorporate ideas borrowed from the Doges Palace in Venice.)

Wonder if the original poster had in mind CA Mission style - sort of like thinking Mexican tortillas are like Spanish tortillas.

Hi fquarter, Seems your post has generated a lot of controversy:)

Anyway, back to your question, did you decide to rent a car or go with bus? For two weeks, I am not sure which one is more time efficient.

By the way, you might want to read on Frigiliana village close to Nerja as well. Was not possible to see the interiors of the houses but the exteriors of the houses were real pretty. The doorknobs in that village specially and in many other places are a hand with a pearl ring. The American tour guide who lives in Frigiliana said that it is called "Fatemeh's hand" and is for good luck and is from Moorish time. They sold that type of doorknob in some souvenir shops and even in Madrid in regular stores.
