Andalusia and Segovia:best month:Feb or March?
I am planning a trip to Spain next year, I would like to know which month: February or March is better?
I am looking for lesser crowds, is March quite crowded as compared to Feb, like are the crowds significantly higher in places like Seville, Granada?
If feb is much better than march in terms of crowds, I dont mind Feb, but will the cold be intense in places like Avila or Segovia?

Last year we were in Spain in mid-April. It was snowing in Segovia and had to purchase hats, gloves and extra sweater. Madrid that day was almost 20 degrees (F) warmer. However, Madrid was quite cold at night too and had to purchase tights for under skirt. Loved Segovia, which since we renamed "Snogovia." The gals in Madrid were wearing boots and black puffy jackets (if not down), while we had our spring jackets. Weather in Andalusia was gorgeous and warm, but we were never too hot (except for a day in Marbella). Be sure and avoid Easter, the crowds were not a problem in Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Marbella nor in Madrid & Barcelona.

The cold could be very intense in Segovia and Avila AND Andalucia.. even in March. or it could be pleasantly sunny and crisp. Come prepared.. obviously March SHOULD be a tad warmer than February but we have been having very unusual weather lately.

March would still be realtively quiet when it comes to tourists in most of Spain, and you could very well get lucky and have much nice weather. I've been in Málaga/Andalucía in March two out of the past three years, and that has included newspapers on the beach and some cold svims.
Past 16 years stistics for mid March in Málaga says average daily highs 68F and seven hours sun pr day and night lows at 50F. (wetteronline.de)
In inland Sevilla the average daily high is 72-76F in the same period.
Segovia would normally be colder, statistics for mid march says average highs at 62-68F and night lows at 37-41.

Just remember..March is still "winter" and not beach weather in Spain, the second most mountainous country after Switzerland. Virtually mountains everywhere.. which you know can bring very cold breezes, no matter what.

I visited the Alhambra in late March, 2010. It was possible to buy entry tickets by waiting in line for over an hour, perhaps 2 hours, first thing in the morning the same day, but it is much more efficient and certain of getting in, to buy them online before going. See Rick Steves for advice on how to do this and on timing your visit for earlier in the day so you have a good long time there before it closes. If I remember correctly, it does require choosing your day for the visit, in advance. The Alhambra is one of my most favorite places in Spain, perhaps anywhere in Europe, and it would be too bad if you missed out on it. The royal palace in Sevilla is also beautiful in a similar style.

Thanks NaomiBham.
I have another question, I am planning to travel on overnight buses for long journey, between Seville and Madrid for example. Is it cold on the buses or are they well air conditioned?

Sevilla-Madrid is only 2h 30 mins with the excellent high speed AVE train. You could save more than half the price if you buy tickets in advance at: http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/
