An idiot missing out on a good hotel rate
I have to share my frustrating story! I had booked a room at the Paris CDG Airport Ibis hotel a while back for 109 euro. On Tuesday, I looked at rates again and there was one for 59 Euro. A bargain! I fully intended to cancel my original reservation and rebook at the new rate, but thought the rate should be good for a couple of days. Well, I went to book it today and it's back at 109. I am kicking myself! I'm an experienced traveler, so I don't know what I was thinking. Let my stupidity be a lesson for anybody else out there. Book when you see a great rate!

Your lesson learned is a lesson for many aspects of modern life: Don't hesitate when you see a "deal". How many times have I been vacationing in Europe, seen something I felt I "needed" but waited hoping to find a better price? Sure enough, I never saw the item again. It seems to happen to me every trip. "He who hesitates is lost".

I am going to look everyday leading up to my trip just in case something changes, just like you suggest Adrienne. It appears to be something like airlines do, put a few seats or rooms at a low price and once they are gone, they are gone. I checked other dates out of curiousity and the cheap rate was available for those dates. Argh!! I am trying to make this a low budget trip because I'm just closing on my first house in two weeks and any savings would help. You'd think I would have booked immediately. Lessons, lessons!
