Oh, sure, many places and times are imprinted, how many years back do you wish to go! But some stand out, e.g., meeting a terrific GM and exchanging thoughts and emotions. So, wishing you a happy sojourn to the woods, hoping you take along the Flowbee to keep your trusty sidekick stylish.

why not post something positive and get off John - you can't humiliate him - he does that himself - and your attention is what he craves. Just sick!

But John G is such a sweet, sweet man. And that 31" waist, well I never.

The histrionics on this forum. Endless and endemic.

Standing near the gates of Kensington Palace in February 2000, I noticed a man and woman, probably in their 50's. The woman slowly approached the gates, and I saw that she was holding a small bouquet of flowers in her hand. She nestled the bouquet between the posts of the gate, dropped her head, and started softly crying. The man ~ probably her husband ~ appeared to be moved, but did not draw near, allowing his wife her "space." After a few moments, she returned to her husband, and together they walked away. I spied a small card attached to the bouquet. It was handwritten and had been laminated in plastic to protect it from rain. It read simply: "To Diana, Our Queen of Hearts Forever. We miss you."

My first trip to England with my best girl friend from high school: We stayed in a delightful 14th century cottage cut into a hillside with roses growing up the front and moss covering the near ground-level roof. I awoke early one morning to horse hoofs and threw open the leaded class windows to see a young boy on a horse with a gun across his lap and his dog trotting alongside with a hare in his jowls. I'll never forget it!
Wow, am I ever glad I started this! Thanks to all of you who made me smile, including John G. Twisted stuff can be cool too!

You all brought back some other memories:

We got to Rome on a Sunday and had the dreadful experience of a wallet theft on the bus and missed dinner while at the police station etc. and were jet lagged etc. I slept in the next morning. My husband woke me, and said "I have a surprise for you!" The surprise was the square next to our hotel, Campo dei Fiori, had turned into a market! I bought an orange for breakfast and upon peeling it found it to be a strange colour. It was my first blood orange! Luckily, I had seen them before and knew it was not just a rotten orange.

The smell of the wine cellars in Beaune, that musty oak smell that sometimes is found in a good bottle of wine, immedicately brings back a mental image of Marche de Vins.
