Amsterdam using Go-Today?
Has anyone visited Amsterdam using Go-Today? Any comments or suggestions? If you prefer to book the trip yourself, what are your favorite sites for booking hotels? Thanks.

Maxie,
I'm going to Amsterdam for Thanksgiving. I did look into GoToday.com, but decided against it. I think that gotoday is a reputable organization; I've heard that they deliver everything as promised. However, I did the calculations and decided that it was cheaper to do my own reservatinos. It is also more convenient as you get to chose your own flights. With regard to hotels, Priceline is the best option; you can get a 4* in Central Amsterdam for $70-80 (check out www.biddingfortravel.com). If you don't like Priceline, try www.bookings.nl. You can get Novotel Amsterdam for 70 euros/night. |
Hi maxie,
four of us will spend some time in Amsterdam in 3 weeks and we're on a budget. So I did spend quite some time looking for hotels. My favorite booking sites for Amsterdam on the www are www.hotels.nl and my all-time favorite www.hrs.com (Hotel Reservation Service). Both give you a chance to cancel your reservation until a day or 2 before arrival. So I reserve and then wait until a week or so before travelling: Then I research again whether rates for nicer hotels haven't dropped below those at which I did my reservatrion. ;-) |
Thank you for the replies! I'm looking into booking each portion of our trip separately, the only drawback is that we hardly ever get a decent airfare from our departure city. We'll keep looking. Kascha thank you for the tip for www.hrs.com, I like the idea of being able to cancel so close to arrival if you find something you like better. Thanks again!
