Tram and trains transfers in Amsterdam

muchachona May 17th, 2009 06:58 AM

Im sorry, I left the topic empty. My husband and I will be traveling to Amsterdam in 3 days and would like to know if anyone can tell me how can I use the tram system to go from Crown Plaza Hotel in the Central Area to the RAI museum and back. I have noted that the closest tram stop to the hotel is from line 5, but the line that gets to the RAI is 4. I havent been able to find a way to transfer from Tram 5 to Tram 4. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Your hotel is around the corner from the train station. Tram 5 picks up there. Go to the public transport ticket office outside the station and buy a strippenkaart and ask for a transport map. http://tinyurl.com/39z4z2. The strippenkaart is valid on all buses and trams in NL and the A'dam metro. To get out to the RAI I suggest the metro. Ask the folks at the transport office which one to take. The metro station is right underneath the office.

Spaarne has given the best advice IMO....just about every tram line in the city starts out from the central station and the numbers are well-marked. You can get out to the RAI on a tram but the Metro will be easier
