Amsterdam to Paris BY TRAIN

leaving a week from Tuesday from AMS to Paris?.... what's the best train deal? And which section in Paris would you stay for 3 days?

I like the central arrondisements... 4th, 5th, or 6th would be my choices.

also www.thalys.com

and also check Rail Europe in the U.s. - some kind of 50% off full fare sale though not sure - anyway if you just show up you will often pay much more than advance online fares IME

I also recommend thalys. I took it from the Netherlands to Paris last year.

Thalys has a monopoly on service direct from Amsterdam to Paris. However you can save a bit by taking the International Express, aka Intercity, from Amsterdam to Brussels Zuid/Midi. From there you have no choice but to pay for the Thalys high speed.

Paris 5th or 6th.
