Amsterdam Pride Festival 2004

If you're in Amsterdam from August 5 to 8, you will be able to celebrate the Gay and Lesbian Festival. Lots of info at:

One observed this phenomenon when in Amsterdam, one found it quite fascinating!

Does one always refer to oneself in the third person?

m_kingdom2 Aug 1st, 2004 10:38 AM

One can hardly use oneself to describe the first person.

dwzemens Aug 1st, 2004 10:38 AM

"One" what?

m_kingdom2 Aug 1st, 2004 10:41 AM

So many errors on my part today, that's life!

TopMan Aug 1st, 2004 01:25 PM

Ira, why don't you and M_Kingdom just get married and go to the Pride Festival next year together? I'm certain the trip report would be unforgettable!

m_kingdom2 Aug 1st, 2004 01:35 PM

How drole.

nevcharlie Aug 1st, 2004 01:49 PM

mk2.....it's DROLL dearie, your spelling really is slipping lately.

m_kingdom2 Aug 1st, 2004 01:58 PM

I'm confusing the French, I am not on the ball tonight!

We have a fantastic gay pride parade here in Boston, evey year.

Eloise Aug 1st, 2004 02:35 PM

The one in Montreal is not to be sniffed at either, I understand.

But I suspect that JSmith lies in the UK, so that Amsterdam is closer than Boston or Montreal.

Scarlett Aug 1st, 2004 02:37 PM

One can be quite witty when one wants to be :D

NYC has a Gay Pride Day and Parade that isn't too shabby either! ((R))

Eloise Aug 1st, 2004 02:39 PM

Oh dear, a ghastly typo! That should, of course, be "lives" insteaf of "lies."

Scarlett Aug 1st, 2004 02:42 PM

LOL, Eloise, I figured that is what you meant but it is a funny typo!

suze Aug 1st, 2004 04:50 PM

Living in Seattle WA US gay pride is always a much looked forward to event. For jsmith, thanks for posting... finding local events has always been a highlight of my trips.

jsmith Aug 1st, 2004 07:29 PM

Eloise, your suspicion is incorrect. My wife of 45 years and I live happily in central Massachusetts and are heterosexual although celibacy is an approaching danger.

I posted the address today because it was in an article in timesonline and there seemed to be a number of postings on Amsterdam recently.

suze, there are two sites that I'm aware of for events. The first is for the world and the second is culled from the first by The Times for Europe only:

My sincere apologies, JSmith -- for two erroneous conclusions: that you were British because you frequently posted references to travel articles in the Times of London and that you had a personal interest in the Amsterdam Pride Festival.
