Amsterdam More Info

A woman friend suggested I go to Amsterdam saying it is a wonderful place to visit. Where can I get more information about the Amsterdam area? Places to stay, things to do, etc.?

Thanks

I too would like to visit Amsterdam, particularly the redlight district. I am probably going to be bashed, but remember I am an adult and am interested in this type of activity because I don't get much action here at home.

Any information(cost, what can be done, etc) on the red light district will be appreciated.

Been there May 28th, 2001 04:46 AM

Check out www.visitamsterdam.nl for things to see and do. It's an intertesting city! There was a message board, but not sure of site anymore.
Red light district is well regulated but don't have any details.

Amsterdam is one of our favorite cities. We have made three visits there and plan to return many more times. The city offers something for everyone - from beautiful canals and incredible museums to offbeat experiences in the redlight district. It's one of the most varied and tolerant places we've ever been - and I guess that's what keeps us going back. Please let me know if you need more info.

If you are serious about going to adam. go to www.iqnatzmice.com read the message bd. study the site and you will be very glad you did. The site is the only place to find out about RLD and more, much more.

Mike meant to use a "g" and not "q" in that web address above.

amsterdam is a delightful city particular at night. It's feels like
the wild ...wild west....anything goes.
the redlight distict is the center of all the fun....clubs....sexual trade..
resturants. The city is full of young people from all over europe running in and about the redlight district. The area is narrow streets, people on bikes, and little shops and resturants. The place is somewhat safe, but it is a drug area.

My favorite Amsterdam hotel is the Ambassade. It's an old 'row-house' hotel on one of the prettiest canals and is easy walking distance to all the cool stuff you'll want to do at night. Just feel free to skip the expensive 'extra' buffet breakfast, as there are plenty of less expensive places nearby.

My boyfriend wants to go to Amsterdam also. I can't figure out why. He says he just wants to visit the RDL as well as other areas of interest. Why in the world would he be interested in the RDL when he can see almost anything he wants here in the USA? There are plenty of porn shops and of course if he wants a different woman for variety, he can go to Nevada. Though the USA does not offer live sex shows(that I know of), there are films galore in the XXX shops.

So guys, help me understand why a guy would want to visit the RDL, especially when he has a woman that is considered very attractive and slender. Won't go into details about our sex life, but we agree that we are very active and it is good.

I disagree with "Pastel", who says that "the redlight distict is the center of all the fun....clubs....sexual trade..
resturants."

Well, maybe it's center of the sex trade, but that's about it. As for "fun, clubs, and restaurants", you'll be quite disappointed if you confine yourself to the RLD. Get a good guidebook and find out the real story.

For most people, the RLD is good for an hour or so of voyeuristic gawking, if they even bother with it at all. The rest of Amsterdam, however, has something for everyone and some of the nicest, most "alive" people you'll ever meet.

April. I would love to hear about your sex life, give me an e-mail to correspond with you!

M Jun 5th, 2001 09:50 AM

Amsterdam is a great little city and there's plenting to do w/o even entering the RLD (we were with our kids so avoided it). There are great museums, markets and restaurants. Also just walking around and exploring, renting a bicycle, etc. The buildings are adorable, and the people are friendly and knowledgable. We were only there for a couple of days, with more time there are lots of possible day-trips you can also take.

Hey about,

Won't go into details about our sex life, but we agree that we are very active and it is good.

Obvisouly you want something that I am not willing to do. Please be considerate and don't get persistent

April

Hey April, you did reply so it seems to me part of you wants to give me an e-mail address. I would love to write!

Sel Jun 10th, 2001 06:59 PM

April,

Amsterdam isn't just good for sex, I mean please.. like there aren't enough hotties here to have sex with. They've got an awesome array of delightful buds to soothe your daily THC requirements. The hot babes in the RLD is just an added plus. Of course there's always Jamaica, but their accents aren't as sexy.

Tiredof Jun 10th, 2001 08:51 PM

School's out. Can you tell?

Sel Jun 11th, 2001 04:58 AM

Infantile? Oh, school's out? Oooh no! If talking about women and weed on an Amsterdam topic is infantile, just how old and wise are you? Do the world's elderly a favor by not opting to be the psych therapist on some message board and therby reassuring yourself of your own dignity.

kids Jun 11th, 2001 05:54 AM

Sel, I don't think it was the content as much as the presentation.

If you hadn't presented the information as a 15 year old who had just seen his first naked woman and rolled his first joint, I don't think anyone would have commented.

The original post asked for places to stay, things to do, etc. (granted, the RLD and drugs can be part of that) -- not a glandular reaction to whatever is forbidden in your home country.

If you want to discuss "women and weed" start a new post.
