Amsterdam in April

Any suggestions on reasonable B&B's or hotels .

What is a reasonable hotel to you, Jim? We like Krasnopolsky and think that prices are reasonable. Golden Tulip Doelen is a pleasant place to stay in and you could walk anywhere from there.

Thank you for your reply. Was looking for something in the area of 100 Euro per night

Try The Bridge Hotel (www.thebridgehotel.nl, I think). We always stay there and have never paid more than US$95 a night (except over holiday periods). It's small and comfortable, but it is in no way fancy. It's on the Amstel at The Skinny Bridge next to the Carre Theatre. It's a 5 minute walk from othe nearest metro, tram lines and Waterlooplein and perhaps 10 minutes from Rembrandtplein. The location is quiet at night. Hope this helps.

I've stayed at the Hotel Citadel twice and really liked it. Not far from Central Station but far enough away to be quiet! <BR>

Jim... we loved the Hotel Washington, you can find the essential info in the Rants and Raves section... I'm loath to tell you this tho... as we hope to stay there late April :)

Our favourite hotel in Amsterdam: "De Filosoof" (The Philosopher) at the Anna van den Vondelstraat near the Vondelpark. Great atmnosphere, each room named after a philosopher, VERY reasonable prices (less than 100 Euro for an ordinary room, slightly more for a nice little "apartment", breakfast included. Reserve in time because it fills up fast.
