Amsterdam Hotels around $90-100

Has anyone stayed in Amsterdam at a hotel or band b in this price range? We are looking for a central location. Maybe Jordan area or near Vondelpark. I am not familiar with Amsterdam so I don't know which areas are good. Thanks for the help.

The Rants & Raves section here on Fodors for Amsterdam lists 21 hotels in the under 110E/night category.

You might take a look at those, as well as the listings on Frommers.com, tripadvisor.com and/or Timeout.com, and then come back here to text search for feedback on those that sound appealing to you. People can then answer any further questions you might still have.

The website suggested above is actually eurocheapO.com, and reviews lots of buget hotels.

www.amsterdamhotspots.nl is a well organized and very helpful site. I stayed at Hotel Kap, which was modest but well located with a nice breakfast included.

I highly recommend going with your idea of Jordaan or Vondelpark (or Leidseplein) areas. I've only been to Amsterdam once, but found these slightly outlying neighborhoods FAR more appealing than the Central area around the Dam, red light district etc. (to my eye was crowded, dirty, gray, dreary).

I just recently stayed at the Hotel Brower which is on the Single Canal. Only about 10 minutes from Dam Square or Centraal Station but in a very nice residential area. I have posted some other remarks about it here if you do a search. They have a web site (I think you can google it). It was 85€ for a double including breakfast. Only have 8 rooms and they are usually booked so need to reserve early. I will definitly stay there again on my next trip to Amsterdam.

I think that's spelled Hotel "Brouwer" if you're searching...
Also check into Hotel de Munck.

I have been to Amsterdam many times, and would heartily recommend using

http://www.citymundo.nl/

to rent an apartment. They are great to work with, and have many options including houseboats! The apartment I rented in November was right in the heart of the centrum, was newly remodeled as of September, was huge with an elevator, and slept 2 in seperate rooms for $170 a night. You can't do better than that in Ammy.
