Amsterdam hotels

We'll be staying in Amsterdam mid August for 2 nights before returning to the U S. We have an early morning flight the day we leave and would like something convenient to the airport. I've looked at the websites for Hotel Badhoevedorp and Hotel de Munck. Does anyone know about either of these 2 or have a better suggestion? Any "must-sees" in Amsterdam?
Thanks

"Convenient to the airport" may depend on how you prefer to return to the airport - by train? taxi? Connexxion shuttle?

If by train, maybe you stay near Central.. if by Shuttle, maybe you stay at a hotel on their outward bound route? if by taxi... doesn't matter much. Or is it that you want to stay at or near the airport and travel into Amsterdam for sights and entertainment?

www.nadia.nl is a good centrally located choice.

Have a look at the Amsterdam Forum at tripadvisor.com

Look for the thread re Priceline hotels started by MrJohnMd... it's always near the top these days. You can snag a 4 star or better hotel in Amsterdam for well under 100 USD a night. Often in the 60-75 dollar range for a double.

Worth a look... the airport is only a 22 minute train ride from Centraal Station...

I was originally thinking of lodging near the airport, but if Central Station is only 20+ minutes to the airport, it shouldn't be an issue.
I appreciate all the input on hotels. Will check it out.
