Amsterdam Hotels

Hi Everyone,

We are a family of four, parents and two teenagers, travelling to Amsterdam for about 4 days in June. Does anyone have a hotel suggestion? We've had good luck with "family" rooms in other European cities, though two separate rooms are also ok. The teenagers are older, a boy and a girl, and they can share a room. We don't need to stay at the Ritz, but we don't mind spending a little money, either. A great location is the most important thing. Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Jen

Take a look at the Barbizon. I just stayed there in late November of 07. I liked the location.

The Crowne Plaza is also very nicely located. I stayed there maybe two years ago.

I think the Eden Amsterdam (formerly Best Western Eden) has a great location. If you don't stay there, being in the general vicinity works out very well. One disadvantage is that their twin rooms all seem to have two adjacent beds, albeit with separate bedcovers, which might be uncomfortable for two opposite-sex siblings.

Someone posted on here a while back about Residence le Coin...I think it was MaureenB.

As posted earlier, you might check out staying in a houseboat. Just do a search on this site to get info. Wm posted a website address for houseboats to rent for short term.
