My family of 4, including our two children ages 7 and 10, will be visiting Amsterdam this June. We are looking for nice accommodations in the city center or in any surrounding neighborhood. Not looking for anything fancy, just a clean well run hotel with good service. Thanks!

Can't help much unless you give a budget - in either $ or euros please. (Nice could mean 5* or2* and clean.)

A budget type hotel would be best, probably a 2*.

I will be in Amsterdam for one night on my way to go visit my grandson in January and just booked a room at the Best Western Leidse Square Hotel for 59 euros, breakfast and free internet included.

Check out the Hotel Aalders, near the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. We stayed there in October and liked it a lot.
