Amsterdam Hotel Recommendations
 

Planning 3 days in Amsterdam in early October. Looking for reasonably priced hotel 150 Euro range) near museum area or central. Any suggestions?

Golden Tulip Amsterdam Centre on Leidseplein - close to Museums may be worth a try. I've got rooms there at that sort of price: good value for 5 star. Check www.goldentulip.com for deals.

www.amsterdamhotspots.nl<BR><BR>was a helpful site. i spent 5 days in Amsterdam last month. my hotel was 57Euro with breakfast included, shower/sink in small top floor room but toilet shared (so i think you're looking for something a bit nicer ;-)<BR><BR>In general, I DEFINITELY preferred the Leidseplein, Vondelpark, Jordaan over the central area right downtown near the train station, the Dam, red light district.

Stayed at AMS Hotel Terdam in 2000 near the above-mentioned Golden Tulip. Terdam is near Leidseplein - current rate for doubles (standard) as about 149Euro. www.ams.nl or www.bookings.nl<BR>Nice hotel, good breakfast (included, I think), great location.

THese are very nice and very well-located:<BR><BR> Ambassade<BR> Estherea<BR> Pulitzer<BR><BR> None are near the Red Light District, Centraal Station, or Dam Square, which I agree with another poster in dis-recommending as areas to stay in.
