Amsterdam Hotel Help

We will be in Amsterdam Sept 8th for 3 nights. Unfortunately there is a large convention (IBC) in town during that time and all the hotels I have checked (eg. Owl, Hestia etc)are booked. Obviously I would like to stay in the heart of "tourist" Amsterdam, but if I can't find anything I will need something nearby. I'm looking for any suggestions. I normally stay in 2 star places, but this may have to be an exception.
Thanks for your help.

i've been in a similar situation once where everything was booked and called the Amsterdam Tourist office and they were very helpful in booking a hotel.

Try searching www.google.nl

You'll get a lot more hits and several more 'consolidators'.

Hotel Ambassade is your Mulligan. You will never regret it.

Thanks for your help. After many rejections, (including the Ambassade which suggested I should change my travel plans) I was able to find quads at Hotel Di-Ann and Hotel Agora. There are 4 of us travelling but no one seems to have any doubles available.
If any of you have any input on either hotel I would appreciate it.
Thanks again.
