Are you kidding?! I love eating in Amsterdam. There is great Dutch Indonesian food, and great Dutch Argentinian food, and great Dutch Thai food, and great Dutch Chinese food, and great Dutch.... You know, I think there is even some great Dutch Dutch food. There have been a few good reviews here. Personally, I love eating in Amsterdam!

I agree with Grasshopper: think ethnic in Amsterdam. Not only will you have a lot of good things to choose from, but dining in Amsterdam doesn't tend to be a bank-breaking experience, either.

Amsterdam is full of great restaurants...I once had a magnificent Argentinian barbeque dinner there.

Allow me to 3rd that. Amsterdam is a great place to eat!! Puri Mas for Indonesian and Zomers for eclectic Dutch are two of my favorites but there are so many more. Enjoy!
