Amsterdam Christmas Market

Greetings all - Does anyone know, given the new restrictions in the Netherlands, whether the Amsterdam Christmas markets are still open? Am booked to come from the UK Dec 16th, but will bump it if all the markets are closed. Can deal with a 5pm curfew (just)

TIA :)

Everything is closed at 5pm until at least 17 December. A new press conference with news on easing or extending this isn't until the 14th.
Amsterdam is not known for Christmas markets. You almost certainly will need a QR code to get into any that may take place. The Light festival is only on early in the mornings and until 5 pm, except the installations on the water which have to stay on for safety. The Amsterdamsche Kerstmarkt is cancelled.
The advice is to stay at home as much as possible. There is truly nothing to do after 5.
I would cancel if I were you.

Thanks so much for the quick reply - appreciate it. Will cancel the trip - I'm holding a Plan B from 29-Dec to come too - hopefully restrictions might get a little easier by then.

Here is the official website of iamsterdam. Surrounding towns like Haarlem have cancelled, so have a look through the list. I would keep checking this page as I am sure it will be updated as appropriate:

It does not have as up-to-date information as Hetismij provides, if this is the case.
