Have apartment near Invalides, now need Paris hotel for 2 nights
Earlier I had asked advice re the Invalide/Eiffel area as I was looking at an apartment for our fall trip. After all the responses I got, we decided to rent this apartment (at 78 rue St. Dominique) as we wanted to experience a new neighborhood (previously had stayed in the Marais once and St. Germain twice). The apartment was not available for our first two nights in Paris so we'll probably be staying in a hotel 2 nights. We're looking for something that would be easy transportation to our apartment --either in the immediate neighborhood so we could walk or get a quick cab ride to the apartment or right by a metro stop with a direct line to the Invalides metro stop (no transfers).
We just need a comfortable clean hotel -- nothing fancy -- hopefully in the neighborhood of $100-125.

Hôtel de France on the Boul. de la Tour Maubourg is a nice little place within walking distance (7-10 minutes). Haven't stayed there for a few years, but have stayed probably 15-20 times over many years and it's a sweet little place. Nothing fancy, small rooms, but clean and the staff are really nice. Not sure what their prices are these days, but it used to be very reasonable - under 80 euros a night for a double.

Hotel Malar is just up the street. Friends who lived on Saint Dominique used to recommend it to visitors. It is very simple they say but they have free wifi
They show they have rates starting at 95 euros but I bet that is off season...
Can't remember when you are traveling.

You might also check out EuroCheapo-but that neighborhood isn't the cheapest as you can imagine-probably more 100-125 euros is more realistic I am sad to say. However, it would be nice to be close rather than moving your stuff from another neighborhood.

Hotel Pavillon is on rue Dominique. It´s currently being renovated but will be reopened this month. It´s part of the Green Spirit group that jpie lists above.
I will agree that for two people, a budget window of 100€ to 120€ will be the base for hotels in this area.
