Amsterdam and Nice
 

I decided to go to Amsterdam and Nice end of May. Here is my prelim flight that i have not booked. I am planning on purchasing round trip Nice on another airline ( easy jet) as it was cheaper by 1k. Thinking 3 nights AMS and 3 nights Nice.

What’s is your question?
It seems that you have a 8 day vacation with 4 travel days as I assume you are flying round trip AMS-NCE in the middle of your vacation to give you two full days in Nice and 2 full days in Amsterdam. That is inadequate time for both destinations and you are spending almost half of your time traveling.

And there is a Sunday and Monday in the middle - which are not the best days to visit either city because some shops/sites will be closed.

what is it about the sudden need to fly across the pond and then do tiny holidays in two far apart places to maximise their airmiles.

You do realise EasyJet has terrible luggage allowances and charges for every stupid little thing? Why fly across three countries for a couple of days? With that time you could spend all of your time in the Netherlands without difficulty. The Netherlands is much much more than Amsterdam.
Oh and you will be jet lagged on your first full day in Amsterdam, then need to fly to Nice the next day to be back in Amsterdam for your flight home the following day. Do not rely on Easyjet getting you back to AMS on time for a flight home on the same day.
Too much flying for too little time in either place.

There are just 2 choices:
either you enjoy Amsterdam and may be some smaller Dutch towns, some part of Belgium or the Rhine Valley (boat from Cologne up to Mainz)
or you enjoy airports, airport transfers and hotel check ins/check outs.

I am not fond of Nice, and certainly your plan sounds like a nightmare to me. You couldn't pay me to go on that trip.

One week in Holland is fine. No need to stray.

You really need to do some homework and do alittle reading to see what you might be interested in doing. There are a lot of guidebooks out there that can be helpful There is Fodor's, Rick Steves, Lonely planet and Rough guide just to name a few. We are not you.

3 nights is only two full days, which is not long in Amsterdam, or anywhere else.

Knowing nothing about what interests you it is tough, but den Hague springs to mind. But Appledorn might be good as well. There is a very special Van Gogh museum outside of Amsterdam you might like.

Easyjet is my favorite intra-European airline. The luggage allowances are not terrible, they are quite generous in my opinion and are even greater than some legacy carriers. The std checked bags size is 23 kg, which is normal. If you want to pay for carrying a piece of luggage on board for some reason, in addition to a personal item, the size allowed for "Hand baggage" is 56x45x25 cm and 15 kg which is roughly 22x17x10 inches. There is nothing terrible about that. Air France only allows 55x35x25 on board, for example with a max weight of 12 kg.

Easyjet doesn't charge for every thing any more than many other carriers, but what difference does it make anyway, the bottom line is what matters. Obviously if your ticket would cost twice as much on another airline than Easyjet, even when including the luggage fee and maybe seat choice fee, you aren't better off. You can easily choose the options you want when booking. I think most airlines charge separately for luggage nowadays, except for longhaul international flights. Easyjet's seats are quite comfortab le, also, Ryanair is the airline with pretty small seat measurements (espec between seats).

Nonetheless Christina flying back and forth across the continent for three nights is plain stupid.

Easyjet does have punctuality problems.

Having watched Easyjet bringing a whole group of Italians to tears was the last time I flew with them. I'm sure they are all lovely now and their mothers love them, but that one flight was enough.

I have top 10 Dk Eye Amsterdam. It appears 5 nights will be nice over there.
As for what else to do to make it a 10 day vacation; I like art, history, nature, water and walking.
i just recently developed knee tendinitis which may not get better by then so I would not hike but walking is just fine.

Highly recommend Kroller-Muller museum and not too far from there in Apeldoorn is Palais Het Loo which we did not get to unfortunately, (we'll have to go back for it, ran out of time!) Delft and Den Haag are great trips from Amsterdam although Den Haag would be more than a day trip imo.

Whatever you plan to do in Amsterdam, be sure to book your tickets well in advance, especially including Anne Frank Haus if that's on your list. Ten days in the Netherlands will be very easy to fill. Nothing against Nice, but it's really an outlier when talking about Amsterdam.
