Amsterdam Advice

Hello All,
I will be finishing up a cruise in Amsterdam and planning to spend one extra night there before flying home the next day. I would like to see the Anne Frank house and the VanGogh museum if time allows. Can anyone recommend a hotel (or area where there are hotels) between the cruise ship port and museums? I don't mind walking (or taking public transportation) if I don't have bags to carry.
Thank you,
Pam

I don’t know where the cruise port is but Amsterdam isn’t large. When will be there?
Advance reservations are needed for these museums. See if you can get reservations and then find a hotel. There are many hotels near those museums.

I can recommend the Pulitzer hotel. It’s very near the Anne Frank house. I’m sure the concierge can arrange tickets for you to both the Anne Frank house and the museum which is also in walking distance

No idea about what your price range or style you like. Amsterdam is small city (well the tourist part is). So everything is walk able and you can take public transport.
We also do not know what time of year this trip is. A suggestion here could be full. I suggest you look at Booking.com Loads of filters and reviews of those who have stayed in the establishment.
You do not have to reverse via Booking you can always search for the hotels own website once you have made your choice.

Most cruise ships dock within a km of the main railway station.

Since Anne Frank House uses online, tied entry tickets I doubt any concierge no matter how wonderful can do that. Same for van Gogh Museum.
You don't say when this trip is but if those are the essentials to see then you need to be sure you can get tickets for them both, and at a time convenient for the cruise arrival.
The nearest hotel to the cruise terminal is the Movenpick, a short walk from Centraal Station and a the tram station in front of it. A modern hotel, so lifts etc, rather than steep stairs.
Amsterdam is very walkable. Remember the public transport does not accept cash.

[thanks for the advice!
I am planning to get the museum tickets asap!
our trip is in September.
my first time in the Netherlands so I didn’t know the public transportation doesn’t take cash. Are there kiosks to buy tickets?
Thank you so much!

This will tell you all about public transport in Amsterdam.

You may want to read the website to find out more about the city.

A shocker is that the city is not very clean these days. Waste on the floor, overflowing garbage bins are being reported.
