Amsterdam

We have 3 days and need to know best and centrally located hotels to stay in Amsterdam. We are 2 ladies in our 60's!

What is your budget per night - a specific amount in euros? And what do you mean by best? Most luxurious 5*? The best bargain - possibly giving up private bath and stairs vs elevator? The best location? Are you able to share one double bed or do you want 2 beds (can up price significantly)?

People have very different requirements and expectations to be "best" to them.

60's? You're young. Taxis make lots of hotels "central."

There are several modern hotels near central station, not too expensive - Doubletree, Ibis. I like hotels in the canal ring, near the Jordan but the inexpensive ones probably do not have elevators and may have steep, narrow stairs. Put a pricepoint and a bit more info and you will get specific suggestions.

Yes, more information would be helpful. I absolutely love the Ambassade:

I'd return again and again if I could. But I have no idea if it suits your needs and budget; I can tell you it is perfectly located.

Hey - thanks for the info. Yes, we would like an elevator and private bath. We are not luxury minded but do want clean and breakfast included. Canal ring would be good. bellk

Given your criteria look at the NH City Centre because it has a great location. I've stayed there and was satisfied but that was a couple of years ago so you should read lots of reviews. The main entrance has significant stairs (there is another entrance). E-mail hotel staff in advance of booking to discuss getting luggage assistance for main entrance or precise direction to alternate entrance with elevator.
