American Express TRAVEL AGENCY in Rome? Where?
Where's the American Express travel agency in Rome?
Where else can I buy TRAIN TICKETS on a Sunday afternoon? I prefer buying them in a travel agency rather than the train station. Thanks! |
Why not just buy them at the airport train station, if landing in Rome - rarely any lines there and English spoken. AMEX was by the Spanish Steps and may not be open on Sun and may charge a service fee.
|
You can buy them at most travel agents as well as at Amex; if they are closed on Sundays why not buy them the day before if you do not want to go to Termini to purchase tickets?
|
The American Express office is on the Piazza di Spagna, but I very much doubt that it would be open on a Sunday.

You can find an Amex travel office in Piazza Di Spagna near the Spanish Steps

Rick Steves mentions two travel agencies in Rome, in his book "Italy 2006":
1. Quo Vadis, near the Vatican, Via della Conciliazione, 22-24, [email protected] 2. American Express office near the Spanish steps, Monday-Friday 9:00- 17:30, closed Saturday and Sunday, Piazza di Spagna 38, tel. 06-67641 |
Lots of folks here have said buying tickets from automatic machines in stations is a snap. Moi i don't know but why are you aloof to buy at a station. If Termini is too mobbed try a secondary station like Ostiense, Travestere or Tiburtina where lines are likely shorter.
|
I avoided the train station BEFORE the automated machines which have English translations. Roma Termini has many machines, so if you have to wait,it's usually for only one person to finish their transaction.
