American Express cc in Croatia
 

Hi guys! Anyone know if American Express credit cards are widely accepted in Croatia? Rome? Tried to search the forum, but seem to pull up only travellers checks topics. Thanks!

Actually many places in Rome and Croatia DON't take credit cards at all. Ask before you decide on a restraunt. HOwever, we did use our amex there this past week and was never told that particular one wasnt accepted.

Most places in Dubrovnik did NOT take AMEX. Some did take visa/mc, but as mentioned, cash (kuna/euro) is king out there.

Amex is not widely accepted in Europe. You are better of with Visa or MC.
