Amboise restaurants

planning a day trip to the Loire Valley. Any recommendations on good restaurants there?

Sorry, I don't have a recommendation for you. But thought I would mention that we spent a most memorable visit to the Loire Valley and Amboise.

Don't forget to stop in the caves along the way to sample and buy the local wines. They are terrific. And Da Vinci's home was just lovely.

Have a wonderful time.

Le Cheval Blanc in Bléré is one of my very favorite restaurants in all of France. If you can get there, go!

In Amboise itself , Le Choiseul is an excellent restaurant (also a lovely place to stay).

In Amboise, L'Epicerie (on the town square, just across from the castle) had wonderful food - we ate outside on the terrace in front.

I'd second the recommendation on I second the L'Epicerie for a good quality, very reasonable restaurant. For a slight splurge, try the one-star Michelin restaurant, Le Manoir St. Thomas.

Happy travels.

John H.
