Amber Room/TriCentenial Schedule
 

Am beginning to research options for 4 days in St Peterberg in Aug 2003. Would appreciate suggestions re websites which list special events. Also, if there is any possibility of visiting the Amber Room reconstruction?

The Amber Room is probably still scheduled for reopening in May 2003.<BR>There are some tour companies that can take you through the restoration area of the Amber Room--doubtful if you can do it yourself. <BR><BR>There are some events listed at<BR><BR>http://www.300.spb.ru/culture/events/2003/index_en.htm<BR><BR>but unfortunately I doubt there will be much in the way of firm scheduling of most events (concerts, museum exhibitions, operas, etc.) until January 2003.

Much of the restoration work of the Amber Room in Catherines Palace in Tsarskoe Selo (Puskin) has been completed. The 30 year restoration is expected to be completed by May 2003. The room is presently open to visitors, I visited in May 2002.
