Well, I wish someone would tell me what happened. I had to bail out at ten o'clock, and didn't think it was important enough to tape...so the last I saw they were getting ready to leave their campsite on the icepack.
Where did they have to go next, and who brought up the rear?

It's always fun to see the contestants going through familiar airports and I enjoyed seeing the places in Iceland that we've visited, too. I was amazed at the tacky way some people were willing to speak and act toward each other. It would be reprehensible enough in private, but with a camera rolling?!

How about the 2 girls who drove right past the waterfall (I know, it was foggy) and followed all the others, not knowing that these other contestants had already been to the falls and were on their way to the next stop. thank goodness they were able to catch up.
What gets me is the abrupt manner in which some contestants ask locals for help; very few remember to say a please and thank-you.

Marilyn, I like the way DH thinks. With this mostly very strange group, it would be nice if some wound up dead... and then CSI could figure out the inner workings of the brainless ones... then, maybe not!
The first AR was the best because it was new and certainly a world above Survivor. And AR5 definitely comes in 2nd. As for this group... too early to tell, because half the teams are difficult to root for. Though I don't wonder if the production and camera crews aren't encouraging some of the stupidy, rudeness and nasty attitudes - but what's worse is that some teams actually listen.
Who knows, there might be a pair of stars in there. On to next week!

That Air Canada agent didn't want to help so she was being obnoxious. They didn't ask for AC flights, they asked if she could check to see which airline had the best flight, which all the teams do. Is it Tuesday yet?

flypet - I know, I thought it was funny that the agent was so unhelpful (esp. after what the models had been saying about their travel experience). Usually I think the agents are waaaay more helpful than they normally are, going far above and beyond normal behaviour, because of all the cameras. But that woman? No way.

I've watched previous AR's on occasion, but this is the first season I've tried to watch from the beginning.
Is it just me, or are the teams remarkably similar . . . i.e, a bunch of actors/models? Oh, yeah, and two pairs of pals from NYC, the boys from Brooklyn and the gals from Queens.
I thought they were supposed to be looking for a diverse group of contestants, but aside from the African-American father-daughter pair and the grandparents, the rest are mostly interchangeable and I was having a hard time keeping them straight. I will miss the boys from Brooklyn, if only because I could remember who they were b/c they kept reminding us they were the "skinny Jewish boys from Brooklyn."
Although obnoxious blue haired dude really has to go. He stood out from the rest only in his level of jerkitude. I don't know how his wife can stand him.

I guess I'm missing something, but I don't see what was wrong with the Air Canada agent. Those agents are not (to my knowledge) general travel agents, they are agents for their airline only. It may be "nice" to do flight searches for other airlines (if they have the free time), but isn't their first responsibility to Air Canada customers?
The teams this time don't interest me at all. Too many wanna-be actors, showing off and "performing" for the cameras. Yuck.

I love the amazing race and have been watching it from the first season. I am sorry to see the first team knocked off, they could have provided better entertainment than the wrestlers or the fighting couple. As for the father/daughter team, I hope they will be able to stick in there for awhile and hopefully the end.
As for Iceland, was that beautiful. I would love to go there one day. I might just have to.......
Tomorrow night is another episode, we will have to see what happens.

Sure, the AC agent has a commitment to AC flyers, but all airlines have access to all schedules, and more importantly, there was no one else in line. Of course the editing on this show actually determines what we see, and what we don't see, and we are only seeing 44 minutes out of possibly hundreds of hours of tape (which will be reduced as teams are eliminated).
Hey, its Tuesday!
