amalfi coast with club abc
 

We are taking an "Amalfi Coast Delights" tour with Club ABC in October. We will be staying at the Lloyds Baia Hotel in Vietri Sul Mare. We have a free day and would like to explore the region on our own. Has anyone done this and how do we get around? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Joan - Where do you want to go?

You can travel the Amalfi Coast by bus or ferry (- weather permitting). Buses also run up to Ravello from Amalfi.

Pompeii/Vesuvius, Ercolano, Capri, Paestum, Naples and Sorrento would also be viable trips ... among others.

Or you could do the famous 'Pathway of the Gods' hike for fabulous views ...

You're spoilt for choice realy :)

thanks for your response. we will be staying in vietri sul mare. we would like to know if we can walk into town from our hotel (lloyds baia hotel) and if there is a bus that will take us to the villages along the way. is a taxi possible into town or to salerno? we will look into the Sita schedule.

Joan - It appears to be only a few minutes walk from the centre.

For buses to villages along the coast see the links I gave (- timetables change after Sept 9 but will be online then).

For Ravello, Positano and points west you will have to change bus in Amalfi.

Ferries are available from Amalfi to Positano, Capri or Salerno.

Taxis are available from Vietri - or your hotel will be happy to book one.
