Amalfi Coast to Taormina
 

What is the easiest way to go from Positano or Sorrento to Taormina? Is it better to rent a car before or after arriving in Sicily? (will use train/bus/ferries from Naples to get to and stay on Amalfi Coast.

Good afternoon, Vicki <BR>I would suggest the easiest way of getting from Postiano, would be by taking the train from Salerno to Taormina, trains run frequently over this route to Messina and then down to Taormina .. <BR>Check out www.fs-on-line.com. for the RR <BR>Schedules. Do not beleive there are any rail connections to Positano or the Amalfi Coast this is normally done by Tour bus or private car. There is a railroad from Naples to Sorrento, check <BR>http://www.vesuviana.it/.....Sorrent...ovmessina/---- <BR>Positano--www.starnet.it......If you are driving around in Sicilia, would suggest renting the car upon arrival in Taormina, Save the tolls on the Autostrada and the Ferry Service over the Straits of Messina.
