Going to Amalfi Coast staying in Praiano June 12th I would like to know about nice restaurants, bars, nitelife, and any other information to enhance our trip.

Hi Pam. We just spent five nights in Praiano. We loved it but I don't believe it would be for everyone. It is very quiet, has a lot less tourists than many places on the Amalfi coast.
We only ate out twice as we had an apartment and it was the last leg of our trip and we were getting tired of restaurants.
The people in this little town are very friendly. On the main road, Via Roma there are many shops were you can pick up snacks, water etc.
We had dinner at the Open Gate which is small and family run. We also ate on the beach at the Alfonso e Mare. The food was wonderful. Both places were moderate in price.
Sorry about bars and nightlife, it isn't our thing, so I can't help there.
There are several very nice hotels located there, so I am sure they have nice restaurants. There is one nightclub called the Africana or something of the sort.
The one drawback of this town is that there is no boat access to other towns on the Amalfi coast.
There is a great website which will list hotels and restaurants. It is Starnetwork. Check it out.
Hello Pam,

The Africana Club which Sherry mentioned is in a cave. Sounds interesting, though I've never been.
www.africananightclub.com

The open gate was my favorite restaurant when we staying Conca Da Marini in Oct. The food was amazing and the pizza was the best I have ever had. I agree with the other poster, not much going on in this little village but there was even less in the one we stayed in. Have fun and watch out for the vespa drivers from hell and the buses filled with tourists...As for nightlife a long relaxing dinner with a good bottle of wine was all we needed but then again we were on our honeymoon.

Love this area and love this town, but there is no night life, except the one club that has been mentioned. I did not go to the club so I do not know what it is like. Hope the lack of night life does not spoil your trip. enjopy

I just wanted to say again how much we liked this town. We stayed in an apartment and had a lovely terrace facing the sea, but not the dramatic hang over the cliff views that some of the hotels there have.
Still, we enjoyed it very much, and mostly the people in the shops. They were so friendly and helpful.
Please let me know about your trip when you return.
If you happen to stop in the Emporio Limoni on Via Roma tell Alfonso and Anna that Sherry and Bob send their regards.
