Amalfi Coast luxurious 3 day weekend
 

We will be heading to the amalfi coast for a three day weekend. We are a couple in our 30's and like 5 star hotels.Any suggestions for choosing the best island to be based from in respects of best, romantic hotel with luxury and service. Any suggestions for a romantic dinner would be appreciated as well.

I think many people recommend Positano or Ravello as a romantic location. These are towns on the Amalfi Coast. Le Sirenuse and Il San Pietro seem well regarded in Positano, & Palazzo Sasso & Hotel Palumbo in Ravello. Also Santa Caterina in Amalfi is supposed to be marvelous. Bear in mind, I have not been to these luxurious hotels, but I am in the midst of planning my own trip to Italy, including the Amalfi Coast & Capri. Since we will be travelling for 2 weeks, my budget does not allow for the luxury of these hotels! My husband and I will be staying 3 nights at Villa Rosa in Positano & 2 nights at La Minerva in Capri.

Amalfi is one of my favourite places in the whole world!

I always, if I am staying in Amalif itself, check-in at the Santa Caterina which has never disappointed me yet. However, I do prefer Sorrento as a base when staying for longer periods of time. Three days will be spent most enjoyably in and around Amalfi.

I too would suggest Le Sirenuse (stayed ther last year, the spa is great! Also stayed at Santa Caterina, beautiful! With the elevator down the cliff to the pool deck on the rocks to the stairs down into the sea, wonderful!

The Palazzo Sasso in Ravello would be my choice,a top quality hotel in top quality surroundings.
