Amalfi Coast Hotel Advice

Looking for a good base for 4 nights to enjoy pool and beach and explore the area with daytrip to Capri, etc. Torn between La Fenice in Positano or Luna Convento in Amalfi - can anyone help direct one way or the other? Thank you for your help!

Thank you for the feedback!

Miramalfi is another option, in Amalfi, with a pool, in the price range we want to spend, that I'm looking at. Based on descriptions of the areas I think Amalfi and Positano have more of the feel we're looking for.

It will be easier to day trip to Capri from Positano.
Look at Albergo California.

I loved Amalfi and it is very easy to daytrip from there to Capri. Not sure why Bob thinks it is easier to do this from Positano...

Both of the hotels you mention in would probably be good bets. The pool at the Luna is not large but has a dramatic position near the sea. The hotel, formerly a convent, just oozes historic charm.

Just making it clear: Both of the hotels you mention in Amalfi should be good bets--the Luna Convento and the Miramalfi.

I considered the Luna for my last trip to the area a few years back--this thread may give you some info; I toured the hotel while there and was impressed. It is just out of the actual town--about a 7 minute walk from the center.

Albergo California in Positano does not have a pool, unless they've added one in the past couple of months....or unless I am more addled than usual this morning.

Thank you for your help! Am getting very frustrated with lack of availability at the places I like in the area...am also now considering Sorrento just based on availability...could anyone advise as to how either of these would compare and if one is better than the other? Again appreciate the help!
Sorrento - Grand Hotel Royal
or
Imperial Tramontano Hotel Sorrento

I have not stayed in Sorrento in many years so cannot advise. When is your trip? Have you checked Venere.com to see availability?

But in the Amalfi area, this hotel has a pool; relatives of mine stay here and recommend:
