Amalfi Coast!

I am heading to Italy in July. I have decided to spend 3 nights in the Amalfi Coast (july 11-14)

I am looking for a great town on the beach that has a nightlife. I dont want a place that goes to sleep early. What suggestions do you have for the amalfi!!?!??

Thanks!

I am guessing Sorrento (not really on the Amalfi Coast) would be your best bet as its the largest town. We were in Positano a couple of years ago but wouldnt say that it had a nightlife so to speak. Nice places for dinner. But I think you will find the villages of the Amalfi Coast are not really places for 'nightlife'.

Perhaps Capri? Maybe someone else can comment on that?

Sorrento is your best bet, but as jamikins says, it's not on the AC but next to it. None of the towns along the AC have a bustling club scene or packed bars--it's just not that sort of place.

The Ac is much more of a chill out place, with good restaurants in the main, nice hotels and great scenery. Again, beaches are not Caribbean style here, much more rocky or at the bottom of cliffs.

Hi E,

>I am looking for a great town on the beach that has a nightlife. I dont want a place that goes to sleep early. <

If you are looking for all night action, you have picked the wrong place.

Positano has a beach and some night clubs.

I know Positano has one fun nightclub - Music on the Rocks, which is down on the beach.
It is the only club I could find on the AC in my research for my upcoming trip.

Just want to point out that Sorrento, while not on the Amalfi coast, is around the corner on the Gulf of Naples. So it has beautiful views of the gulf, Naples in the distance, and Mt. Vesuvius.

Sorrento doesn't have any beach whatsoever either.

There is swimming off piers at the base of the cliff in Sorrento, and a little bit of beach here: www.leonellisbeach.com/english/illido.htm
