Am I mad? Venice in Sept without A/C

Ive booked an apartment in Dorsoduro, Venice for three nights at the end of Sept and have just realised that it doesnt have A/C.

Im always cold so it wont bother me but my husband is the kind of person who wears t'shirts in winter (Australian winter so around 15 degree c, not snow or anything).

Is he going to kill me? Whats the temp like around that time of year in Venice?

mattruby,

Here's a link where you can view weather forcasts and see average temps. for when you'll be there.

Who knows what the weather will really be like when you get there. I went to Rome this May and typically this is a beautiful time of year to go but we had some unusually cold rainy weather - would it stop me from going? Never.

Have fun, E

September is divine. Most likely, you'll both need hearty sweaters at night or while on the water, even with sunshine. Depends how quickly you catch a chill.

I have been to Venice twice in September, once the second week and once the last week. Both times were sunny and warm and often humid and I found I needed the A/C every night. Never needed at sweater in the evenings or on the water, but then I am not as delicate as NYCFS. :-)

We were in Venice the end of Sept. in 2001. The weather was sunny and cool. You should be OK without AC unless there is an unusual warm spell.

Hi MR,

Find out if they have fans.

Have been to Venice only once in Sept - end of the month - and it was warm and humid - and we definitely needed the AC. But then I hate heat (can;t sleep at all if the room is over 72) and run the AC at home from late May through early Oct - unless we get really cool weather.

I'd rather be safe than sorry, why have a potentially misrerable husband?

Thanks very much for all your views.

I think Ill go with the suggestion to ask whether they have fans so at least we can have air circulating even if no A/C.

Thanks again
