mschock, how sweet of you to return to us with an update. so many do not after we give our advice or opinions or recommendations. you most likely have son (like his mother.)

I've found the responses to this post very intersting, particularly the differnt attitudes between Europeans and Americans regarding "freedom" for teenagers. I started travelling on my own in Europe while I was in high school.

I am female and I went by my self to Amterdam at 18 (this was in 1995, so not terribly long ago I keep telling myself). Oh, and no...I did not have even so much as a single toke (sp?).

If mschock son's want's to go and is paying is own way, I don't think he/she should stop him.

Opps...I didn't see that this post was from 2 years ago...but glad everything worked out for mshock's son in Amsterdam and beyond.
