Dena:

Sounds like something my good friend Bridget Jones would be interested in! Can you drink the bathtub dry - is that part of the cure? I can see the headline now, In the New York Times travel section:

British lady almost drowns in France Spa:
"Mon Dieu", said M. Percival de Rothschild, owner of the spa " Several times we tried to fish her out of the bath, but she resisted strongly. Ahh.. she is a women of taste; she recognizes a good vintage".

Madonna, a former US resident of little real talent currently residing in the UK and married to a local director of some merit who has obviously made a considerable contribution to her flagging career, had this to say: "Even a Brit fallen down dead drunk from consuming their own bath water sounds more intelligent than a Harvard educated American"

In Brussels, the EU Food Regulatory Board commented: "Obviously, this is just another case of the hazards associated with consuming un-pasteurized cheese and, soon to be outlawed, offal, which the lady dined on BEFORE she entered the bath".

The British Foreign Service representative had this to say: "We take this matter VERY seriously and, in exchange for this unfortunate incident, would ask the French to finally agree to giving us back the Acquitaine, which was given to us with the marriage between Henry and Eleanor! What ho, off to hounds"

The PM of Canada, WHATHISNAME?, was unavailable for comment as we could not find his name in the phone book.

The Irish Tourist Board, are considering installing a similar spa in Jameson's distillery in Dublin. "A tragic tale.", said Brendan O'Reilly, Manager of Jameson' marketing department. "We believe, however, that the lady was overcome by bacteria in the French wine, that is NOT present in our own holistic brew. We have been concerned, of late at the amount of Fodorites that insist on visiting these wine producing countries (France & Italy) with no regard to their health. We assure all potential customers that NO bacteria can sustain "the cure" of Jameson's best whiskey".

The US foreign office has published an alert on their website, warning their citizens against drinking bathwater at this spa or in general, citing recent posts on the Fodor's website regarding concerns of the cleanliness of hotel baths. "Travelers should be aware of the hazards involved in drinking foreign bathwater" said Reginald Bush, a distant cousin, twice remove from the President.

When asked for a comment, the President waved his golf club and asked where France was. His caddy, a senior advisor in the Defense Department, commented on the importance of the "Missile Defense Programme".

"Americans should understand the threat to our security if those French start launching those wine tubs at us. They are un-American and, frankly, severely threaten our Californian Wine industry. We could have a trade war on our hands".
