Altered Itinerary - Opinions Please!

Hi there,
Thank you for the great suggestions you all gave me for my previous post! I've altered the itinerary for our European Honeymoon to:
Paris (5 nights)
Rome (5 nights) perhaps going to Florence as well
Barcelona (4 nights)
London (5 nights)

Could you please give me your opinions? We're both 29 and we will be travelling August 27-September 17 (3 weeks). I know this is still alot to see and do but we like staying active on our trips and our honeymoon is one month after the wedding so we'll have had some down time.

It's OK.

I would take a look at the actual transport time between the cities: packing/unpacking, checking in/out, distance to the airports (usually quite far from the city center for budget airlines), how soon before your flight you need to be at these airports.

Get an accurate day by day schedule of when you leave one hotel and when you will arrive at the next destination (taking in the considerations given in the paragraph above).

I am not saying that the eye opening results will make you cut anything out, only that it might.

If it was me, I would go with London, Paris & Rome. Again, your revised itinerary looks OK, but could be even better with one less city change. It would also make a full day trip to Florence (depart Rome 7am - return Rome 10pm) more feasible.

Are you flying, driving, or going by train between the cities?

Cut back to only London, Paris and Rome - reduces planning load, saves transport time and costs, and allows you to explore at leisure. Do Barcelona another time.

I don't think the itinerary is bad at all and certainly not too ambitious if you plan carefully, depending on how you are planning to get between these cities. There are budget flghts between Paris and Barcelona/Rome; between London and Barcelona/Paris/Rome;
between Barcelona and Rome and as long as you can meet the checked luggage restrictions (which for some on a honeymmon might be difficult) why not?

You can also do overnight rail service Paris-Barcelona or Paris-Florence/Rome or Barcelona-Italy

I assume you are going to fly in and out open jaws, is that correct?

Hi P,

1. I would replace Barcelona with Venice, or

2. I would replace London with Venice, or

3. I would replace Rome with Venice.

Otherwise, looks good.

Have a nice visit.
